The Falklands War and Its Impact on Margaret Thatcher's Victory in the General Elections of 1983 The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the impact of Falklands War on British political scene and particularly its influence on the victory of Conservative Party in the General elections in 1983. The author takes into account the geographical position and importance of Falkland Islands at the beginning of the thesis, for understanding of situation of both interested countries (Argentina and Great Britain). Further on, the author outlines the historical context of the quarrel for the Falkland Islands and the progress of relations between Argentina and Great Britain. Then she analyses the political situation in Great Britain during the first Thatcher's government, including economic situation in the country. In the next chapter the author analyses the war and its consequences. The last chapter, which is crucial for this thesis, is the analysis of the General election in Great Britain in 1983 with the special regard to the impact of the victorious war mentioned above (so called "Falkland Factor"). Voter turnout: Undecided individuals in public opinion surveys

This bachelor thesis is concerned with the identification of undecided voters in terms of voter turnout in the Czech republic. In this paper I call them "possible voters". In other words in preelection polls these individuals declare they are not decided whether they will vote or not. I use preelections polls that are part of continual reserach survey called "Our society" conducted monthly by The Public Opinion Research Centre in order to find out what is the percentage of these voters. This study is focused on the period between 1990 and 2013 and explicitly on general elections. The other aim of this paper is to describe how the percentage of possible voters varies among certain sociodemographics. Prezidentské primární volby ve Spojených státech amerických v roce 2008

Presidential primary elections could demonstrate current developments in the American society and contribute to better understanding of general elections in November 2008. Therefore, after theoretical introduction about primary elections as process, I describe and compare standpoints of front-runners to the most debated issues (Hillary Rodham Clinton, John McCain and Barack Obama, then partially John Edwards, Rudolph Guiliani, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney). As a result, new trends in American political parties could be identified. Moreover, this analysis could forecast main tensions during the general presidential election in November. Apart from issues, this thesis deals with race and gender question and ageism and effects and success of using new communication channels in candidates' political campaigns.
